Putin is trying to get the West to think with increasing despondency about an open-ended war, says Peter Bergen. The aim is rather to just simply say you had your hopes that the Ukrainians were going to be able to win a quick military victory, writes Bergen. "I don't think it's necessarily going to happen, but if it does happen, again, this will just be one more little wait on the scales," he adds.
