The Place of Blue in History
Up until the fourteenth century blue was seen as unlucky, uncouth and unfashionable. The rise of the cult of the virgin mary in christianity saw it have a cultural resurgence. Ultramarine is one of the classic pigment that was used during this time. It's also at the root of my favourite kind of colour: pink.
