We are living through a global plague, one that revealed our worst instincts at the worst times. In 19 72, forty five % of americans thought that most people can be trusted. By 20 18, that had dropped to about 30%. We are living through an epidemic of cynicism. And i'm supposed to be immune. My whole career i've studied the sunny side of human nature. Giving away money activates similar parts of your brain as eating chocolate. Helping other people throh their stress calms our own.
