How Did You Know That an Essay Belonged in a Collection of Essays?
Carbel: How did you know that an essay belonged like the place where it should live is in the collection that's more around their time period, versus the larger sweeping landscape anthology? Carbel: Ye, i put together essentially a very large party. And part of the focus was a debate about liberalism. But then what i was looking for in the third volume was a kind of freshness, you know. So theye were experimental essays,. and there were essays that were quite humorous, and just something that felt like the paint hadn't quite dried yet.
