Trump lost his aura of invincibility. The conventional wisdom is the exact opposite that he's toxic and you want to distance yourself from him as much as possible. Every big corporation was just like, we're hardcore Democratic, not giving any more money to any of the Republicans. And yes, now they're in a no win situation because if you get the corporate money back, well, that means you do have to throw Trump onto the bus in some way,. But to throw Trump on the bus in any way means there's 30% of the base that are going to hate McConnell and hate the Republicans.
