The Impassable Deity

I take the revelation in Scripture as my norm for Christian doctrine. And doctrines like impassability and simplicity are clearly, I should say, are not taught in the New Testament. So these are open questions to be explored and provisionally, the answers provisionally held. Do you believe that we know a lot more than people did 500 years ago? If I were going to use the word progress, I would be happy to do that.
