The Tiger Can Lay Down With a Lamb
The tiger in this particular poem continues to be fierce, at least in the verse. There are lots of efforts in the verse to contain it. He's not trying to harmonize them. The drawing of the tiger slightly gets under people's skin. It doesn't look quite like a teddy bear in each version of the poem. Perhaps it's saying, well, your french revolutionaries, your hope for a republic. Maybe you couldn't just do a tiger.
