A high index of suspicion is required to make a diagnosis of snake bite, especially in unwitnessed bites or when it's often difficult to obtain a reliable history. Patients receiving anti-venin should be admitted to the pikyu just in case of any systemic side effects from the venom itself or the crow fab which could cause anaphylaxis. The need to avoid NSAIDs, especially in the setting of any coagulopitheas, any contact sports, elective surgeries and dental work. We would recommend at least two weeks after the pit viper bite.
