Is There a Moral Dimension to Inflation?

Money is a symbolic entity that has no intrinsic connection to the value of goods and services, it impacts people's lives. Any mismatch between the size of the money supply and the real economy will cause pain. And it's immoral to inflict unnecessary pain on people. Is there a case to be made in favor of inflation, at least in some cases? That's an empirical question that needs to be studied over time.
