The Context of Faith and Hope and Charity

Both Catholics and Protestants agreed that you need faith in Christ. But apparently, Protestants said that's all you need, not good works. So the classical argument was Protestants accused Catholics of trying to buy their way into heaven with brownie points. Neither side solved the problem for 400 years until we saw the simple point: both sides can use words in a broader or narrower sense.
