The ancient greeks were dubious about this whole writing thing. By building on what other people have written down, it's given us enormous memory capacities. The potential is that a extended mind technology could do something very similar. But by off loading so much of the informational drudge work to technology, thin's got the potential to just open us up to to new possibilities.
