In his TED talk, David Eagleman talks about how he got into graduate school. He says it was a combination of being in labs and reading books on the brain. His biggest failure came when he tried to get published but wasn't accepted by any agents. "I just cruddy chops the universe to bend his will," said Eagleman.

David Eagleman (@davideagleman) is a neuroscientist, New York Times bestselling author, TED speaker, and Guggenheim Fellow. In Palo Alto, California, he teaches at Stanford University, runs a startup neurotech company called Neosensory, and directs the Center for Science and Law.
