As CEO from 03 to 2018, the company went from just over $2 billion sales to $4.5 billion. In 2003, Sonic installed something called Pay Your Stal, which allowed customers to pay by credit card at the order stalls instead of handing the cash or the card to the car hops because it's a dis-drive-in. Some operators were resistant; I'm quite confident that some of them thought it was just a goofy idea. But on the credit card piece, the service stations were doing all over the country.
