There's a difference between telling someone that something's going to go wrong and letting them experience what it means to have it go wrong. Sometimes you need to queue it up with like a little bit of foreshadowing, he says. His favorite example of this is tooltips. He worked in a code base that had legitimately three different tooltip for three different use cases.
