The audience funnel is comprised of three tiers. The top or the first here, also known as the top of the funnel, is something that i call rented audience. Places to build rented audience include twitter, facebook, instagram, youtube and twitch. Owned audience exists in places where there are no central gatekeeper like a facebook or a twitter. It's a huge strength for you as an audience builder, but it can also be your biggest weakness.
