The Importance of Self Service in Power BI
I like to think of self service BI as not just letting everybody run rampant all on their own, but helping them supporting them. What I would rather have them do is access some sort of semantic layer. And so they're not touching production data directly anymore. We're loading data into semantic layer for them. Usually, and that's a really nice thing because then we can protect the original data source if in fact it's really picky.
