Blackness - A Genetically Engineered Experiment
Her blackness is a genetically engineered experiment. It's so that she can endure the sun in the way conventional vampires can't. And again, that's a very progressive and even futuristic way of thinking about sexuality. I want now what butler is doing with this in this novel? Is she rewriting the problematic relationship between race and genetics here? That that history of eugenics and theories of pologenises that have dogged racial and race science. What is she doing here? In my opinion, she was doing several things at once. There are so things going on there. And i i think the fairy probably has some great things to say about this.
