The Origins of Oranges

The word for oranges in Arabic and other languages to me is fascinating because it describes how word get adopted based on the trade routes, you know, how they sell. The sweet orange, we got it from the Portuguese through China. So our word for the, for the orange, bortokal in classical Arabic, comes just from the country of Portugal; that's where wegot it from. But yet, so the idea is that we name a fruit or any product after the country that we got itfrom.
