The Importance of Travel Medicine
Dr. Edward Chapnick is the head of the travel medicine program at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City. He says pepto-bismol can help either prevent travelers diarrhea or make it less severe when it occurs. For people who do travel frequently especially in the underdeveloped countries taking a booster vaccine as an adult is a good idea, he says.
