Encoding Messages in a Picture
The most common way that an image is encoded is with red, green and blue pixels. If you kind of lop off the lowest significant bits of those values, you could have enough to write a message in it. As a human, looking at it, you can't see the difference but a computer can. So in that image that looks normal and you can't tell that it's changed, actually contains a message.
