The world's most powerful lazers are part of the extreme light intrstructure project, financed by the european commission and 13 partner nations. They can achieve ten petawats - a million billion wats of peak power. For that brief period of time you have a ten petawa beam, it's more powerful than all the world's power stations combined for likea million times. But is my nejerk reaction feasible? What about an xawat class lazer? Oh, can we do that? And i say, of course we can.
