Stalingrad, like Hitler, didn't trust his own generals at Stalingrad. So the material that we found was that there had been every single night between 15, 25, 30 pages of reports from the political department in Moscow. There were scandals of drunkenness of commanders and soldiers crossing over to the enemy,. surrenders, whatever it might be. And you knew that this was something you'd never find in any other Soviet archive of something which had nothing to do with the party line or pillars.
