Is a Planned Hedonic Deviation Better Than a Cheat Day?
A planned hedonic deviation offers all of the purported upsides of a cheat day but with much fewer downsides. The most likely scenario is that the advantage was behavioral psychological just providing more flexibility in the diet and giving people an opportunity to pause take their breath get out of that deficit and then re-enter at a later date. A diet break could be as long as you want normally in the fitness world they might be one week or two weeks but theoretically it could be up to three months.
