Cerebral Venous Thrombosis: A Potential Diagnostic Diagnosis

Cerebral venous thrombosis or CVT typically leads to two main pathophysiological consequences. There's either cortical venous infarction leading to focal neurologic syndromes and raised intracranial pressure like that which is seen in our infant here. In about 40 percent of patients, seizures may manifest usually as focal convulsions. Patients experience periorbital and forehead pain, ocular chemosis, and paralysis of cranial nerves that traverse the cavernous sinus.
