The Absurdity of What It Is
Job is obviously such an absurd justification for the events that occur. It's most probably written like when they're in Babylonian captivity, obviously pieced together from all kinds of oral tradition and stuff like that. So there's something beyond the fact that it's just weird for minds that existed a thousand, two thousand years ago, there's a reason that they were continuing to place this in the canon. And so I think they grasped onto this as the appropriate hermeneutic for Job. You really need to read it as being absurd.
