Is That a Service Station?

I used to live in a town called Silverdale. I did a pub quiz there where they gave you ten clues. The first question was this building was designed by whoever is. Whatever he's called. Every other team in the quiz ran to him saying we've got the answer. Me and my partner at the time were sat in the corner. Next clue. And we guessed that it must be that service station.
