The Pain Relief Drug of Relationships
Relationships are likely the pain relief drug that makes old pain of low self-worth, fear, loneliness, and insecurity abate. As soon as the relationship goes away, those feelings that exist whether we know they're there or not all come flooding back to us. We also store, you know, losses in the same part of the brain with past losses. So when you feel the threat of loss, you are also feeling the threat of all past losses of love.
