The Difference Between Credenza Teachings and Tenenda Teachings
The law makes a clear distinction between credenza teachings and tenenda teachings. In practice, one is not more open to change than the other. They're both definitive, but they are still different levels. A tenenda teaching is a sort of contingent upon hangs upon a development of a credenza teaching. It's defined as such by Saint John Paul II; it has to be held by all faithful.
