Napoleon's men shoot a few rounds of grape shot, these revolutionaries scatter and it dissolves. Only about a half dozen of his men die. About 300 revolutionaries are killed. The government is saved, and napoleon is a hero once again. So because of this episode, they reward him by putting him in charge of an army for the first time.
