We want our kids to have not only good self esteem and self worth, but self respect, self love. We teach them that they're getting more of us when they muck up. So stand too in the nurtured hard approach - which is giving beautiful, heartfelt acknowledgment to what the child is doing well. This is how we communicate with people: Am I beautiful or am i worthy? It's not about a set of conditions at the inner boxes that they're ticking on their own.
