The Process of Coding

With land, of course, it all starts with these big enclosure movements in England in the 16th century. Landowners realized that if they give a mortgage to a creditor and they can't pay back their loan, the creditor will take their land. So what they did is they found lawyers, the country solicitors, who offered to help them. They basically created something close to a trust, as they called it, and essentially called the owner, not an owner, but a life tenant.
