The Path Dependence of Language Models in AI Systems
I'm curious if you have any thoughts on what this looks like for a system that maybe isn't using language. I only recently discovered that in vision, for example, egocentric models is a thing. You have a vision system that can view things from the first person perspective and perhaps make decisions off of that. Perhaps just viewing the world, making decisions, maybe not communicating with me in the same way a language model might.
