Dopamine Is a Salience
Dopamine is not sort of joy juice. It says this is salient, pay attention to this again in the future. The hijack is the degree to which we are undermining our capacity for relevance realization. And that has a deleterious effect on human beings. So when I don't think social media is the cause of the meaning crisis, I think it's an accelerant of the mean crisis in very, very powerful ways.
