Kivior had played against sporting and been very unconvincing in the away leg. He also went away with Poland around that time and didn't play particularly well at international level. Now Italy wasn't playing club football, so he probably was very rusty. With hindsight now you look at it and go, well, yeah, maybe we should have played kivior,. But it would have been a huge gamble, I think personally, at that time to drop him straight into our starting XI.
