There is a huge amount of academic research showing instances of women being undermined, interrupted and underestimated. For instance, interruptions, a case, say, men are much more likely to interrupt women than they are other men. However authoritative you are as a woman, you just never insulated from this. Women make up a third of the supreme court justices, but they suffer two thirds of all interruptions, 96 % of the time by men. And then there was another study done where they put a group of people together, mix sex group of people, and they were supposed to be discussing a child custody case.
