The Confusion of the Net Profit and the Exchange Rate

Nintendo earned 171.4 billion yen in the past six months but had an operating loss of $1.9 million. The exchange rate is what basically I turn in my dollar for, that's how much yen it's worth. Nintendo made money, they're profitable this quarter. But now comes the confusing part. They made a net profit and the reason for that is the exchange rate.
