What Happened After That One Study?
The discovery that a patient who completely appeared to be vegetative clinically was, in fact, completely aware. The main consequence of that one study er was immediately people stopped treating these patients as though they weren't aware. And it certainly happened for the patients i was seeing at the time and many of my clinical colleagues since then.
