A fascia iliaca compartment block can reduce a patient's pain score by three points on a 10 point scale. So this isn't going to remove all the pain, it's not a magic bullet. These patients still will need some of that background analgesia. They'll still need the non-pharmacological methods that all go alongside it. But and importantly, like you've said, it does reduce both pain and also the need for those IV opioids.
