The raw time against par's one element of it but what's also very important is simply comparing those times on the same day. You tend to find whether it's wet or dry track conditions or the way the wind's blowing or how far the rail is out and all these sorts of things can have a big impact on the times. For me you've got to look very closely what the jockeys are doing, their forearms are under pressure or they're really trying to get the best out of the horse.
