IN PRAISE OF INEFFICIENCY: SHOULD WE SERVE THE ECONOMY OR SHOULD IT SERVE US?

Native Americans in North Carolina
The people known today as lumbi are the survivors of several tribes who lived along the coast of what is now north carolina. Their ancestors were the first point of contact for the europeans in the late 1500s so we've had nearly 500 years of interaction with the settlers. Lumbies have no language to call our own although we have a distinctive dialect on top of the southern north carolina accent. When you go to apply for or renew your tribal membership card you're asked which church you attend while we maintain our notion of tribal sovereignty.
