The Dangers of an Alford Plea
There is another type of plea called an alford plea where a defendant says you know i am not going to go in there and admit that I did something wrong but i will admit that the government has enough evidence to convict me. The government doesn't really like to take those because part of the history is somebody is accepting yes it's very disfavored somebody is accepting responsibility when you do an alford pleaded you're not accepting responsibility all you're saying is government has enoughevidence to prove it and i'm not going to make them go to trial. If his attorneys come to the government say we our client is interested in talking about this then i think the government will make some sort of offer
