The Problem With Identity Politics
I would prefer to identify as a strain of neo-Marxism. The Marxist framework begins with the assumption that the competition among social groups always inevitably involves a dominant group, which is the oppressor. If you accept that Marxist assumption, then you move into a new kind of identity politics where each one jockeying for its own group and coming to some kind of arrangement that's mutually beneficial.
