Is This a Real Threat?

John Woods was stationed on the Inewatok, a toll in the Pacific. He worked as a guard and a gopher for scientists and engineers who worked there. Many of these scientists were Germans who had previously worked on the Nazi rocket program or in the military aircraft industry. On June 21, 1950, he was tasked with changing some light bulbs while standing in ankle-deep water. A current surged through the water for unclear reasons and electrocuted him to death instantly.
