The theme of darkness and light is so prevalent throughout the Dead Sea Scrolls. In column 15, line 9, it says this: Turn back nor flee from them. All their deeds are in darkness. It is their desire. And they all have established themselves as a refuge of a lie. Their strength is a smoke that vanishes. The war scroll talks about this cosmic battle between the forces of light and the forces of darkness.

Dr. Matson continues to explore themes of redemption, sin, the law, and the power of the Holy Ghost in the second half of the Letter to the Romans.
