Pastoral Nomadism and Hunting and Gathering

There's not enough pasture land in the world to support everyone and their pastoral herds without the risk of severe overgrazing. Pastoralists need settled peoples near them who can provide goods and services that a mobile nomadic society can't. The second type of nomadism I'm going to talk about is hunter-gatherers. Hunting and gathering is one of humanity's oldest subsistence methods, dating back to the Pleistocene almost 2 million years ago.
