Motherhood of the Social Structure
The patriarchal construction of motherhood intersects with a whole bunch of other isms and structures. How we will experience that world depends on how we as individuals are situated within that system. We don't have to be explicitly told this by someone or something, although that often does and can happen for mothers. But we internalize the messages subtly from the time that we're children ourselves. This is how lots of different social scripts and messaging comes about for us as human beings.
