Labor radicals of that era regarded the judiciary and the constitution as reactionary obstacles rather than allies in their struggle. Courts played a few roles in policing labor activity during this period. The most important, the one that was most abhorrent to the labor movement, were their roles in issuing what were known as labor injunctions.
