The Cost of Freedom
700,000 Americans die each year from cardiovascular disease. Estimates are that we could reduce that at the cost of $1 million per life or about one-twentieth of what it's costing us to save lives from coronavirus. Couldn't we do it for about $30 per life and one piece of legislation? And saying you will walk three miles a day, here's your $30 pair of sneakers. You can get into little money on these things. That would actually have a palpable effect. It would. We're not going to mandate exercise. We can't. Freedom gets in the way here a little bit.
