Constant Was a Romantic, a Small Art Romantic
Benjamin constant was a romantic. A capital r romantic means connected to, maybe on the fringes of that grand movement in the history of ideas. But he was also what we might mean by a romantic, the smaller kind. He was some one who loved the idea of love, and was someone who lived a life in pursuit of romantic love.
