Sally Kohn: My story is probably more about my self diagnosis actually, which really started with my child. She says her training as a psychologist in some ways made it easier to see her daughter and then otherwise made it harder because they'd already been diagnosed with ADHD. Kohn: There was an experience that looking back was very much them interpreting something literally and having a really big reaction.
For individuals who've wondered if they are autistic (or know they are but haven't been formally diagnosed), it can be a complex journey to first decide whether or not to seek a formal autism diagnosis and then to learn how to restructure the way they see and interact with the world.
